About This River
Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River is a classic western whitewater boating destination, stretching about 17 miles through a deep, scenic canyon of dramatic rock and desert landscape. The river here features 11 named rapids ranging from Class I to Class IV, making it an exciting and technical run that’s only recommended for experienced boaters. Trips can be done as a long single-day float or a one-night/ two-day adventure, with designated campsites along the way assigned by river rangers prior to launch.
